Lefkosia (Nicosia
Since the wall came down in Berlin, Lefkosia is the only divided capital in the world. Cut in two by the Green Line, Lefkosia gives a less touristy view of the country than the coastal towns.
Troödos Massif
The mountains of the Troödos region in the country's south, are unforgettable. Popular with skiers, hikers and the heat-intolerant, Troödos has 15th-century monasteries, wine-making villages and pleasant walking trails scattered throughout.
Akamas Peninsula
A great spot for walkers, the wild landscape of the Akamas peninsula in the west has remained largely unspoiled.
Paphos
Paphos' most famous sight is its 3rd century mosaic floors considered the best in this part of the world and dedicated to Dionysus. The area is also believed to be the home of Aphrodite, the goddess of love.
Polis
Surrounded by spectacular scenery, Polis is a serene and charming village on the Southern coast. It is a traditional town offering the opportunity to sample village life. It’s a great place to sit and relax or to hire a mountain bike, motorbike or car and explore the local area.
